The Carnival of Brazil at Rodizio

If you’re looking for a night out with friends sometime this week, where you can simply have a good time with some food, special drinks, and live music, you need to go to Rodizio, Crowne Plaza. Fact’s Anushay Taimur Khan went there to get rid of her mid-week blues and has some stories to tell
Marking the beginning of lent, the forty days before Easter, Carnival of Brazil is in town at Rodizio and you need to be a part of it. I was welcomed with live music and instantly loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The friendly staff and my server, Dexter, got straight to introducing me to the various meats he was going to serve and I simply sat down to have the most meatilicious Wednesday ever.
I started with the buffet of pasta and salads and absolutely loved the entire set up of the area. Colorful masks and party vibes were celebrated throughout my dinner and I found myself swaying to a few favorites too! As my drinks were served, my meaty journey began. My starters were served before the meat came in (and kept coming in) that included fried banana, cheese bread, cassava, Beef Empanada, Coxinha, and garlic rice. Now, if I tell you that I sat through the 11 different cuts, you will never believe me. But I wanted to do justice to Rodizio and that is exactly what I did. With pineapple from the Philippines, chicken from Brazil, meat from the US, my taste buds were in for a treat. I never knew that steak could be this good till I tried the beef flab steak and couldn’t stop myself from asking for seconds. If you’re a meat lover, this is the place for you! If you want my suggestions, I will tell you to chomp on the lamb chops, savor the spicy chicken wings & simply meat it up with the traditional beef picanha and smoothly end it with the beef rib eye.

As the meat sweats started coming in, I literally had to flip my meat card and take a break from the eating. My Caipirinha with strawberry flavor was a welcomed knight in shining armor till I saw the roasted pineapple go around the restaurant and immediately wanted some. The slight cinnamon on it gave it a distinct flavor and for a first-timer who had such delish pineapple, I believe they lured in a newbie!

I was then served with Brigadeiro, the traditional Brazilian dessert, which literally made me shed some happy tears. A 4 layered cake with chocolate sprinkles made new friends with me and we have bonded for the rest of our lives. If you like cakes and are into the chocolate flavor, you need to head to Rodizio for this sweet little baby.

The party was so much fun that I almost didn’t want to go home. The fact that I was the last one to leave the restaurant says a lot; about the food and the live entertainment!

The Brazilian Churrascaria is till the 17th of March, 2019 and you can grab yourself a deal for QR 185 if you get yourself a table before 7 PM.
